Wedding Favor Chapstick

THE COMMON GOOD WORK

The combined effect of globalization, economic crisis and climate change (three interdependent processes) if it threatens the survival of our planet, surely the human society. We are entering a time of great upheaval: the environmental, economic, geopolitical. May open the way for huge disasters, the proliferation of wars, to affirm increasingly authoritarian regimes, the worsening of living conditions of billions of human beings. But major upheavals also involve major changes: in which there is room for prospects who until a few years ago might have seemed utopian. For this we need to think back to the big, dare to take new routes, we are confident that what we are trying to do it, and under conditions very different ways, millions and maybe billions of others like us, and that our paths will meet .

Thirty years of unchallenged dominance of the "unique thought" they locked the ruling classes around the world in an eternal present, making them incapable of any development broad. Truth and ability to think in the future have remained the preserve of those who rebelled against the existing state of things.

Those who look to the future from the perspective of a different world now knows, in general terms, many things about how the world must change to survive and allow everyone to live better. They are "things" relating to energy (energy efficiency and renewables), agriculture (organic, multicolturale, multifunctional) and food sovereignty, the full recovery of waste and waste management, land conservation. They all tend to km0 practices (ie, involving a gradual rapprochement of production and consumption), each of which has an indispensable social, equity-oriented and welcoming. We know we have borrowed from the planet Earth for future generations and to manage a portion (usually the one where we live) on behalf of all. We are not, that is, and do not consider ourselves "masters in our house." Our concept of sovereignty is different: it is called autonomy, self-government, sharing.

practices of the movement in recent years have grown more and more variations of this approach and knowledge of those in local contexts, including their highly differentiated, but their reference to a global thought, those practices are not in danger of falling into a Corporate localism no breath and no outlets. This version of a global thinking locally is obviously easier (or less difficult) on issues concerning land use, because the local dimension is intrinsic: it is not the case was first practiced by planners and investment particularly issues such as housing, water management, waste, mobility, culture, public spaces.

this decline is more difficult when it concerns large flows of planetary materials, semi-physical goods which are and remain the essence of industrial production. For this, around the so-called green economy, ie the conversion environment dell’apparato produttivo permane una sostanziale ambivalenza. Noi invece dobbiamo agire perché di green economy se ne faccia molta (e presto; prima che i guasti del pianeta diventino irreversible) and well: that is facing problems in their social dimension.

"Good" means that the work must not be subject to this transformation, but an actor, along with other actors who contribute to the social structure of a given territory. For this work is the true frontier of ecological conversion. For many this is the recent acquisition: the job is a "common good" it said Fiom, under the pressure of the employment crisis - and blackmail Pomigliano - and made it the centerpiece of the event on October 16. E 'claim challenging.

But what is a common good? I think we should shy away from any classification, upon a closed catalog, defined once and for all. Because the boundary that demarcates the area of common property is mobile, it is the result of a permanent dispute - which sometimes leads to fighting, sometimes in an organized and planned, and more in all three things - to rob a privately run use values that can be shared. But the result of this process is not the acquisition or restoration of the property disputed in the area of public property, even if often but not always, this is an unavoidable step.

Ora, affermare che il lavoro è un bene comune è una proposizione che riguarda certamente, e in primo luogo, la salvaguardia della dignità del lavoro e dei diritti che una società deve garantire ai lavoratori; ma significa anche, e soprattutto, che le modalità in cui il lavoro viene impiegato, le finalità di this use and, consequently, such a product (good or service) of that work are issues that can, and should, first of all involved to see the workers themselves, but also the whole community that insists on the territory in which that work is intertwined: whether depends on them for the income it generates, whether they bear the environmental burden that it entails. Simply stating that connection to see how far we are - and how we are moving away - from a world where work is actually a common good. But also that the inclusion of work in the "catalog" of common property is, like all others, a process and not an acquisition ultimately, a work in progress that proceeds in stages, for advanced and backward, and that probably will never end.

But the work is, however, the true frontier of environmental conversion of production and consumption patterns. It 's a frontier that few of us - of who is involved in projects and in struggles for land conservation and cohabitation - is featured in its own right (unlike the case of the millions of farmers and thousands of rural communities engaged in claim and pursue their own self-government).

It 's easy - and sacred to me - say, less pollution, less traffic, fewer cars. But it is difficult to say to workers of a car factory in crisis. Yet it is here that should be pass. And you can do it only looked forward, and subjecting them to verify their involvement, their suggestions, an alternative proposal. The importance of the story of Fiat's Pomigliano is this. They are certainly in play, and safeguard the dignity of labor rights and health of workers: all things without which democracy will disappear. But placed between the end some of the Termini Imerese and the weakening of the Mirafiori equally certain, and in front of a blackmail that says "give me everything for nothing, then we'll see," everyone understood, although few have acknowledged explicitly - and not always their fault, but for the difficulties associated with finding, more than others, on the frontier of the work - the game that you play is much higher and not just about which models and how many cars each plant should produce. The real question is: in Italy there are still factories capable of producing cars? And how many? And for how long? And if you were to shut down, as has been suggested, may develop industrial production in Italy that have more chance of success? Maybe because they represent the future, why do not harm the environment because they can benefit from a local market, without forcing workers to compete with other workers, to the sound of declines, in a race relentlessly toward getting worse? And how to engage in a kind of turning workers than factories and communities of the territories to which they refer? (Www.guidoviale.blogspot.it)

The Italian neoambientalismo

Alberto Asor

In a recent article (poster, November 7) Guido Viale invites us to "change from below." Try to put as directly as possible on its wavelength. For more than four years direct, coordinate, assist (the variety of benefits depends on the tastes and circumstances) a unique organization, which is called: Network of Committees for the Defence of the territory (which is also Association for two years, regolarmente «registrata» come tale).
The two moments are not minimally dissociated and do not relate to each other in a kind of new hierarchy of power (often, the development strategy was created during construction even within a single committee, perhaps especially noticeable) . The network of committees, understood and practiced in this form, is what we are used to define "neoambientalismo Italian," to distinguish it from past experience (for charity, positivissima) of other environmental groups more centralized and hierarchical.
The Network was created and propagated mostly in Tuscany, but it has hooks and links with situations in Liguria, Veneto, Umbria, Marche, Rome, Lazio. Talk with other Associations (Our Italy, Legambiente, WWF), from time to time by meeting and distinguished. He has excellent relationships with Fai. He recently opened a channel for discussion and exchange with another motion, but different SIMILAR, "Stop the use of the land ', this, in turn, especially in Piedmont and Lombardy (and elsewhere). But the experiences of committees are active everywhere in Italy. Indeed, more accurately, there are hundreds around, ranging in size from microscopic to supermassimi (notav of Val di Susa). Sometimes bordering or be integrated with other similar experiences (Water Forum); authoritatively invade the institutional field (list "to another city," well-established the City Council of Florence).
In short, the Committees for the defense, variously organized and coordinated, are a new form of thinking and living the Italian democracy. Even the mere fact that we, in fact. But some further argument can be made. The obstacles to change from below - to return to the indication Avenue - are, judging from my experience, and multiple variables, but three stand out anywhere, anytime. They are: 1) The endless and intractable conflict, large or small, with strong powers of the economy, speculation and exploitation that occur in many ways, from the overtly delinquent than Puttanesca institutional, 2) the weakness of response to a large part of the public, and most of the major means of an upset and maybe dying (but still deadly) development model (still Viale) and 3) the almost total deafness in relation to these issues from part of all (again for brevity: all, but I could also specify) political forces at national level. The first should be the natural enemy of every defense, the preservation of cultural heritage in general a good quality of life. The other two, however, occasional enemies, episodic and therefore potentially recoverable: but how? But when?
Because these two objectives, which are crucial, and it will be realized approaching, we need the second (here express the collective opinion of the web) give the battle acceleration both cultural and political environment (the combination is less formal here than elsewhere). The battle revolves increasingly around the notion of "common good" (let me recall in this connection my article published in December 2008 on the Republic): The cultural and artistic heritage, the environment, the landscape must be understood in letter, like air and water, as an inalienable heritage of human generations present and also, perhaps most importantly, future (see, also, studies and legislative proposals developed in stages by Stefano Rodota).
The second is the start of the preparation of a great conference, which is also national, themed on what we define succinctly: "The disaster of Italy," where to convey in terms of both analytical report must be proactive in planning, the great intellectual resource of the Committee together and intertwined with that of many scholars and specialists who have accompanied it, and we hope to get stronger and even more in the near future.
Growing from the bottom so you can, but only if we contextualize and organize on a broader strategic horizon, the countless local outbreaks. The "leap of scale" is necessary because each of them become stronger, expanding the popular consensus around him and pressing in a much more influential on the political forces, local and national also changing, in passing, nature. While studying ways to take out the corpse of Berlusconi, and at the same time open the maneuvers to ensure the indefinite perpetuation of Berlusconi, one of the ways this could be more serious and responsible to ensure, together with the essential safety of the area Italian, also a leap forward for our entire democracy.

Ideas antiecologiche (also) of the left

(Enzo Scandurra)

In published in Il Manifesto, 17 November (The neoambientalismo Italian) Alberto Asor resumed consideration of Guido Street (The Manifesto of Nov. 7) about the ways of change (in production, development model) - that can only Viale Starting from the bottom up - providing some considerations about the obstacles that are opposed to this change. Today, a growing media coverage of new clean technologies such as solar, wind, photovoltaic, which goes towards a new kind of real business. The impression is that the development - this malsviluppo - remains an independent variable to be implemented, if anything, not through the use of fossil fuels, but alternative energy. Along this road is my opinion that is not produced any new and real change, but only a course correction that, sooner or later, returns to being orthogonal to the environment. In fact, in Viale not escape the fact that the production of alternative energy should take place concurrently with a new ruling class and their use in a wide spread of individuals and communities so as to produce a change in lifestyle also anthropological and individual behavior. Moreover the same problem exists for the disposal of waste is now known that the collection is not just a technical option, but even before that, cultural and anthropological (by recycling one realize that we drop and how we live). The current pattern of consumption and lifestyles (at least today in the West) is not sustainable even if you replace all fossil fuels with clean energy consumed. In addition, renewable energy sources are never enough (at least today) to replace the current energy needs. So what? Here is who takes over the centrality of the cultural issue. Eat less and better, or otherwise, is a recipe for the future. In this perspective, the use of renewable energy sources is, as in the case of recycling, to trigger a "cultural revolution" which aims to become the abandonment the current model of development towards more sober lifestyles in harmony with the environment. But this, precisely, is the more effective the more settled communities of choice (see the example of the volcanic mothers "of Terzigno). Also in this perspective, the virtuoso role of the area is strategic: from inert physical support to make these parasitic dwelling place, land community, place of production itself. But let that Article; Asor argues that there are three obstacles to change from below and the first of these three: "The endless and irremediable conflict [...] with the strong economic powers, of speculation and exploitation "is, than the other two (the ideology of development and lack of political forces on the environmental issue) the natural enemy of every defense, the other two being" instead, enemies occasional, episodic and therefore partially recoverable. " Well, I think, while sharing the view of Asor, that if the first obstacle cited is a tenacious resistance to change even the second obstacle mentioned by him (which for simplicity I call the ideology of development), is an equally tenacious enemy first. We are truly convinced that the ideology of development, this development has come to the end of the line? Paradoxically, it seems to me that the alleged purpose of this model is more in fact than in the ideas of the people. In fact, many of the disasters disastrous in Italy and outside the country objectively prove that this model of development now produces a very high level of aggression towards the environment, such as to threaten the natural ecosystems to support life. However, from the cultural point of view (and even more politics) are so imbued with this ideology to be hard to think that there may be different ways of being. Implicitly does a kind of automatism that anthropological abandon this road would regress into the past of underdevelopment. The ideas and habits (Even if wrong and groundless) are tough to die (just like Berlusconi) and tend to persist even when the conditions have changed now that they have produced, in the meantime, if you do not say new ideas and new habits more compelling and more appropriate change. I'm talking about, so to speak, of that thing called by Gregory Bateson "ecology of ideas." Bateson used to say that if we are to achieve an end, so to speak, then even the ecological resources that we use to achieve that end must be as environmentally friendly. Many of our behaviors left guilty of this vice, a sort of division (antiecologica) between thought and action whenever, for example, administrative body (left) believes (and decide accordingly) that do great work, celebrate important events, make our cities like Barcelona or Paris or Dubai, is a sign of modernization. All this to say that in the large conference announced (and welcome in the Italian) by Asor on "disaster Italy", it might be appropriate to leave the space and opportunity to talk about the disastrous consequences to our ideas antiecologiche (no less harmful for fossil fuels) that lodge in the left well. Ideas such as: competition, efficiency, effectiveness, modernism, innovation, speed (high speed) .. and the list is very long to want to hanging out.

An economic and social alternative
Giorgio Cremaschi

The terrible evolution of the political crisis, more and more divorced from any substantive content, further emphasizes the need, at least outside the palace, there is against the real crisis in the country.

Guido Viale Fiom proposed to discuss specifically the ecological reconversion of the productive system and the dominant pattern of consumption. I believe that today the issue should be put on the agenda of social struggles and movements in progress.
Not that this medium is so easy to practice. It 'obvious, in fact, that the flight of the policy in the abstract of all is also the result of his inability to master the economic and social crisis. What is getting worse, particularly in Europe, and is adding together three crises. A production and development model, which is a stagnation of the economy in western countries is determined by a drop in its growth and production of traditional products. A social crisis, which is driven by a growing and increasingly dramatic inequality of wealth distribution. A fiscal and financial crisis that is reflected both in private and public debts.
While China and the countries of new growth, albeit at huge environmental and social prices continue Development, Europe accumulates with all the crises. So it is much easier to continue to blather of "reforms" that actually conceal counter-social and have good space in Italy reactionary philosophy of Marchionne, who just proposed to revive the old model of development based on production with a much more restricted and brutal social selection.
In Italy, almost certainly in Europe, an economic recovery that absorbs the contradictions and imbalances of the crisis there will be. Hence the triumph of brutal social recipes, privatization of water, school and all the commons, the destruction of collective bargaining, the questioning of what remains of the welfare state, whose sole purpose is to decrease the social basis of the current development model. Which leads to the folly of pushing the competitiveness and productivity as a function of growth and exports. Objective logically absurd if pursued by all and socially devastating. Objective that necessarily requires a purely authoritarian model of labor relations, as explained Pomigliano. Although the persecution of immigrants, the police state that guarantees are part of this super-dramatic reaction to the crisis.
In Italy, in particular, the liberalism that seeks to select a faithful continuation of the current development model, in the full knowledge that the growth for all, even in the most biased and unfair, and there never will be again.
For this event on October 16 and all the more radical social struggles are not true partners in terms of programs, in Italian politics today. They can also win at the moment, as he wrote for Terzigno Avenue, but then face to the wall of a system hang. The radical popular stop the liberal regime, but then it starts again as before. The anti-union bullying
Marchionne serves to mask the fact that Fiat will never return to Italy in production volumes of the past, that only a niche production will be given to our paese, fondata su un numero ristretto di operai appositamente selezionati e disposti a tutto.
Le lotte locali sull’ambiente, as well as rights, as well as at work, immediately throw the community against mechanisms and national and supranational powers. The sheer strangeness of the two articles appeared in this newspaper, signed by Alberto Asor, the first on the political crisis, the second on the local networks for homeland defense and the environment, now shows that wherever the split between needs and reality policy, is evident everywhere. If the target we set ourselves is not the pure or replace Berlusconi with Marchionne Montezemolo or similar, it is clear that the archipelago of struggle which is now in Italy and was found Oct. 16 in Rome together with the Fiom requires a unifying platform sociale e politica che è estranea, come sostiene anche Viale, alle attuali classi dirigenti.
Questo richiede ingenti risorse che non possono be found that taking away the money to the rich. Social issues and ecological issue, rights and equality, today they are closely related and immediately, do not touch a piece of the crisis without being involved in the crisis of the whole system. There are reformist solutions to the current crisis, at least in the sense that today the word has taken on in politics.
The strength of the reaction, the continuous return of Berlusconi and Berlusconi, stem from the fact that the alternative is either radical change or regression and social selection.
So I think we should have the courage to propose a real economic and social alternative to the current policy, which will reclaim the spirit, not the contents of the plan CGIL labor Di Vittorio fifties. Fiom, who played with 16 October a widespread feeling in many parts of the country, can perhaps aim at promoting more ambitious operation, the construction of such a plan, making him born of the marriage between knowledge and experience of free movements. It is worth trying to build an alternative platform to the pure conservation and restoration of the existing system. A platform that drive conflict and waste social pacts and select a new leadership for the coming years. This for me is to build a real alternative to Berlusconi and Berlusconi. But here we return again to the political crisis, the Left and the unions Italian.

Marco Panara, economic columnist of the Republic, published a book on the relationship between the "value of work", the economic crisis and the difficult recovery in developed countries (the West's disease, Yale University Press, pp. 151, € 16). The text is written in plain language and accessible. The intent is informative: globalization has made the world's largest at the same time (because it has expanded to many emerging spaces of the market) and smaller (because the information technology and telecommunications and transport revolution was mainly due the introduction of the container have canceled or drastically reduced distances). To make the cost of this process were mainly the workers of the West, ritrovatisi to compete with millions of workers from emerging markets, now able to produce the same things in many areas with lower wages, poorer working conditions and welfare does not exist . Hence the migration of many products to Southeast Asia and Latin America, which has forced the workers of the "rich" countries to stop the race to be the "welfare" of the postwar years (the so-called "Thirty Glorious") and to accept more and more precarious working conditions, a systematic curtailment of welfare and, above all, a drastic reduction in the share of GDP attributed to the employee. To hide and compensate for the latter factor has developed in the West, since the "revolution" tatcheriana, that economy of the debt which caused the "bubble" burst in 2008. The "raw material" of the bubble consists of the sales rate, the spread of credit cards, the "loans for honor, but especially from mortgages (whether subprime, that is hardly redeemable, or not) that for a decade have allowed millions of "consumers" to access not only to a new home, but also in new loans due to the apparent, and in fact fictitious increase in the value of their homes, yet to be paid. But on this "side" was then built a castle, made possible by the policies of deregulation, because of financial derivatives, which at the time of the explosion of the bubble has jeopardized the entire global economic system. So many governments have been forced to borrow ever had done to save the financial system, while the crisis is then transmitted to the 'real economy', first with the stalemate of production, then with the occupation, which was not end in sight, partly because governments, already heavily in debt, can no longer be used in counter-cyclical government spending.

So much for the reconstruction of the dynamics of the crisis has important innovations compared to many other publications on the subject. But the upstream and downstream of this analysis Panara raises the issue of "work value". What is meant by this expression is unclear. The book lacks an explicit distinction between what is true, at market prices, the performance of those who work and what value, low-priced market, what the worker produces. Sometimes it seems that the two values are inextricably linked, are sometimes rather seriemente apart, why inserted between them, and in many different forms, the pension, but that is primarily the gain of money with those who produce il danaro, cioè della finanza, che per Panara è la vera fonte di distorsione del mercato. Vero è che quando passa alle terapie per restituire valore, non solo economico, ma anche e soprattutto social, work, Panara, along with recipes obvious as a major commitment to training and support for innovation, it identifies a third, crucial: "Keep in the loop part of the resources that come out every year." Panara gives the example of renewable energy sources, but the same applies to almost all areas that have a strategic value in view of a conversion of the entire production environment: agriculture, nutrition, mobility, land management, waste management. It is not a recipe for protectionism unrealistic, but that of a "reterritorialization" of production, closer with a radical overhaul of the rules of the market, of their consumption on the premises or their use.

Mothers volcanic won. Berlusconi, Bertolaso and have lost their court of miracles. He won the hard fight. Processions and demonstrations in the repetition did not get anything, when they are burning the compactors, Terzigno jumped to center stage. A bad precedent for the government, an indication of the inevitable for those who claim to be pursued: the hope that police officers, drivers and services do not lend themselves more to act as scapegoats to blame others.

Now, in addition to the landfill Cava Vitiello, will not be even that of Serre: two sites on which the Berlusconi government had undertaken even with a law (the only case in the world where landfill sites are indicated by name by law). For this we must return to Parliament to repeal the Law 213 (transposition of the DL. 90), or a part of it, and make a new one. We hope that this time the so-called opposition does not give carte blanche to the government as it did in 2008.

But where will Berlusconi wastes that no longer has spilled Terzigno and Serre? Because the landfills Iripino Ariano and Savignano (open illegally by De Gennaro with Prodi), the Chiaiano (open Bertolaso illegally) and that of Ferrandell (existing, but unused at the time of the emergency of 2008: This is to sharpen the voltage Berlusconi to win, because it is in the land of the Camorra) are almost full, you should open that the Plan of formic acid (also provided by Law 213), yet to be built, but very large, against whom at that time there already been a popular mobilization, with mayors and Vinicio Capossela enough to force Berlusconi to promise (as he tried to do too Terzigno): "Stay in the list, but it will be the last!" Now go back to being the first.

Why, out of landfills, in twenty months of extraordinary powers Bertolaso did nothing, and what we had planned is insane. What is required by L. 213/08? Reduction policies: zero. Separate collection: to 50 percent by 2010 (the time is running out!). But who was it? Municipalities. With what? With funds from the commissioner who never made it (except in certain municipalities, who have spent well: see Salerno, passed 70-70 percent in a year). But then, once the Commissioner had decamped, the ball went to the provinces, which according to the regional law 40, as amended (in force since March 2008) would have to manage the entire waste cycle, including the collection of personal consortia, employees - since 1998 - the collection. In twenty months, a commissioner should have put the provinces who can ensure the collection: money, organization, Installation, personnel selected to assign the management of waste only one for physical and mental condition and age, for other purposes - to be agreed with the Region - the redundancies. Instead, nothing. Bertolaso is gone - and then return, along with its tricolor piping from the tee, four days ago - leaving behind the desert. On the other hand Maroni police one of the few (actually many) that separate collection, the mayors were serious, because he refused to transfer its expertise to a consortium absolutely inefficient.

Go ahead: treat the waste collected. 213 The law does not provide any facility composting audience: those that already existed, an almost ready (Tammy S.), was used by the former commissioner as "temporary storage of waste" and filled with eco-bales that are still there, the other two were not never been tested and still are not working (the virtuous community that make the collection plan are charged € 200 per tonne to send the village in the Veneto or Sicily). The law also provides for the closure of seven plants that would divide the former CDR undifferentiated residual fraction (ie a maximum of 50 percent, according to the law) in dry and wet, take it to stabilize it in a landfill without producing odors and pests of rats, insects and seagulls, and start to "termovalolorizzazione" (read: Incineration) else: no more then half of half of the waste generated each day in California (which are about 7,500 tonnes). By law, the former CDR (almost new, built with EU funds) were to be sold as scrap or processed in composting plants, if an individual, after being released from untreated organic waste accumulated for years on the lines of stabilization (miasma in which the employees were forced to work), it was assumed the risk. So?

So the entire production was destined for incineration of waste without any selection or pretreatment. Hence the law 123 provided for the construction of four incinerators in the Campania region (later became five, when Berlusconi was realized that an incinerator in "normal" the ecoballe could never be burned) with a capacity of incineration over all waste production in the region. Incineration would be funded by CIP 6 incentives: those incentives already extended in violation of European legislation for the Acerra incinerator (and thus Impregilo, the construction company, had given his pledge ecoballe as if they were barrels of oil, banks, now expect the gain promised), the same incentives that the Pd aveva poi proposto di estendere a tutti gli impianti campani (proposta subito accolta da Berlusconi).

And because the rubbish leachate generated (not "arbor" as he said Berlusconi, who has confused with the compost), and the mafia puts us in all the crap he wants, Law 213 also provides that the leachate can be treated in sewage treatment plants civilians (something forbidden and dangerous) and that landfills and incinerators could accommodate industrial toxic waste, something that actually took place. In short, the management of the waste Bertolaso Berlusconi has multiplied the disaster field, leave then the hot potato in the hands of the provinces, now largely governed by the satraps of the "premier". And now, poor man, where they put the waste in order to pursue his "miracle"?

Poor bell but poor man! Now, waiting for the incinerator - that word of Berlusconi, will be built in 18 months, although they were not even designed in 30 - and stinking untreated waste will be scattered in all landfills are exhausted - but you can always try to cram a bit more - or illegal (read Camorra) from that of Giugliano, adjacent to the largest deposit of ecoballe across the galaxy. And Bertolaso, who managed to get hold of a Year Zero without adversarial Santoro, Bertolaso resume to ravage the Campania; as he did to Mary Magdalene, L'Aquila, in Giampillieri and a thousand other places. To what other moms volcanic, or plains, do not stop, once and for all.

Aluminum Boat Floor Pattern

The ecological reconversion of the productive system and the dominant pattern of consumption is a utopia, as claimed Asor in an article in the manifesto of 14:10 Yes, concrete is a utopia, in the sense that this term was given to Alex Langer . And 'that is, a practical, yet radical alternative to the existing state of things. E 'feasible for two reasons. The first is that there are alternatives: sooner or later - sooner rather than later: a few decades and, in some cases, a few years - Planet Earth will enter a state of suffering irreversible, in which to continue with the current system of production will still be impossible. But take a different path will be neither easy nor rapid: they will do better than those who have already gained some experience in this respect and, above all, that this perspective will be involved in the majority of actors who must take charge: that the whole population each, and each social category, for the part that can compete. The second reason is that for the first time combines the environmental issue beyond doubt with the issue of employment, and with it, with those on income, consumption and equity social. The situation of the automotive industry, including the story of Fiat's Termini Imerese Pomigliano and is only a special case, makes this clear.

The product is polluting cars, and in the use phase (contributes at least 14 percent of greenhouse gas emissions), and in that of production (extraction, transport and processing of raw materials and energy resources production and the constituent assembly, with an impact at least equivalent), both in its infrastructure (roads, bridges, tunnels, interchanges, parking areas, especially urban amenities impassable without a car: you get together with close to 50 percent of emissions). In addition, the capacity of the sector is and will remain too large: in the West and in Japan it is clear; in emerging countries will become faster: programs for development of the industry and motorization of the population are impassable. Finally, this field is fierce competition: not only commits the brands (companies), but also the states and unions and, through them, the workers called to line up like soldiers in defense of his business in a war against other businesses, other states, other workers. In this competition the contestants are destined to fall like bowling pins one by one. First the weak, and Fiat, and between them: but not before he sold out - if you follow the suggested path, commonly called BAU (business as usual) - rights, wage levels, welfare (for those who have it yet), health, life and family. And leads to ruin what remains of the great Italian industry. The event of 16 in Rome gave a signal and provided a reference to all those who, not only to Fiat, not only in industry in general, not just in the audience of employees, intend to oppose this perspective. The problem is no alternative to this link, and a path (road map) to turn down the street and realize it.

in the auto industry - as in almost all industrial sectors, starting with the arms industry: the only one in Italy "pulls" at full speed, thanks to public spending and the "humanitarian wars" - there are technical and human resources (workers, managers, know how, and even plants) to start gradually different productions: in particular energy sector, which is one to which it is a top priority in the conversion project (micro-cogeneration plants, wind turbines, and marine microhydraulics, geothermal pumps, photovoltaic panels and solar thermal and thermodynamic). The market for these products in part pays for itself ", with the savings that can be achieved; in part is encouraged, and could be much more if you forgoing treatment "to lose", such as nuclear power and other "great works". But to drive such a process would certainly not be the current management of Fiat, all screened in the run up to the precipice of competing in an industry with no future. Faced with blackmail "or accepted this diktat - and all those who come after - or quit" the only possible answer is that contrapporgli viable alternative: if the company is no longer able to guarantee its rights and employment employees, passing his hand to others: taking on, at least in part, the costs of conversion.

It's not just the car, and is not only the energy industry, to require a label conversion. Agriculture (in Italy in great suffering) and food industry, construction (and urban planning), mobility, waste management (conserving resources), water, land, education, research and training are all areas where a change of course is necessary and urgent. And when the conditions for conversion are already partly present in the skills and plants now engaged in the production and management to be abandoned: just think of the passage from the "great works" of civil engineering at safeguarding the environment and the restructuring and commissioning security of installations and buildings. In all cases cited, the guiding principle of the conversion must necessarily be gradual reterritorialization "of production and markets through their ever-closer proximity: in agriculture, energy generation, waste recovery and waste, the rehabilitation of buildings and land, in training . A system in which to travel around the world are above information, knowledge and cultures - bit - and people who are carriers, and less and less, also because of increasing costs and impacts that will have the transport, resources and physical assets : atoms.

Ma l’unico modo per rendere il processo graduale e meno traumatico per tutti è quello di guidare ogni territorio – che è cosa differente da "Every State" - to food security, energy self-sufficiency, respect for the environment, promote social and cultural life of their inhabitants.

But who will do anything? Every possible road map must begin with an observation: to drive, or even conceive and design a course like this you need a new ruling class, the current one, is part of industrial policy that is not quite up to the task, nor can equipped to become: it is inextricably caught in the dogma Tatcherism (TINA: There Is No Alternative) that there is no alternative to liberalism and to the despotism of the company. Certainly, in the formation of a new ruling class, many skills and competencies of many carriers can be detected by groups that are in charge, but only if a sufficiently strong magnet will be able to remove them, in bits and pieces, from the network of complicity - and irresponsible - that currently binds them. Work because it creates, in the relations of production and the current political order, a new and different leadership is not trivial task, nor of short duration, while the clock is ticking. But for this we must start now and something can be done now. It helps in defining a road map, the fact that the privileged framework for conversion is the territory.

Una nuova classe dirigente ha bisogno di saperi, sia di carattere tecnico sia di carattere sociale, intesi come conoscenza del proprio territorio e delle sue potenzialità; entrambi are abundantly distributed in the population - is not that busy - so much so that the basic committees, associations, movements and organizations of the 'other economy "have demonstrated their ability to grow only through increased exploitation of their knowledge. He needs legitimacy, funding and other, different skills, which are present in local government or one of them, which can only arise from a suitable pressure from below. Needs of businesses and entrepreneurs to put their expertise to new projects, and these may in part be provided - and sizes - from the third sector, in part by companies cornered by the crisis (not always Pirates led by as many bankrupts rose to prominence in the news). It needs finally to a place where these three elements - businesses, governments and associations - can open a dialogue and try to work together to define specific conversion projects. And this is the ideal forum for the selection and training of a new and different leadership. After the event, 16 Fiom could take the initiative - with all due caution, that is, without exaggerated expectations of immediate food - the kind of preparatory meetings in all crisis situations. The story of Electrolux

Scandicci, abandoned by multinational controlled it and turned the production of solar panels through the struggle of workers, trade unions and the support of the Region, but also the commitment of many Tuscan towns to install the equipment manufactured in their facilities, taking advantage of incentives that also allow you to make the transaction cost zero, is exemplary: at the prospect of a market for soft start was not too hard to find entrepreneurs who assume management. Unfortunately, the chosen subjects do not seem up to the task, above all, it seems, because they were attracted by alternatives of speculation on the property noted. But that report only the weakness of a selection process that might have been more when subjected to rigorous public scrutiny and more transparent. Practice makes you learn.

experience - bankruptcy - such as that of Campania Waste Forum, to which I have participated directly in its time had shown that, faced with extreme situations, the willingness to discuss and propose alternative matures within a few businesses and some government . It is certainly not to that experience (hence the failure) the support of the Regional, which also had promoted and then he dropped it badly, but not that many mayors and councilors of the willing, and it was not especially even by the writer, the ability to assess, Despite these difficulties, the daily potential of a site like this: in anticipation of future dates, such as Fiat's Pomigliano and its induced, which could be involved.

In the debate on public ownership and privatization, the state and market, making its way to a "third way" that is not to Tony Blair and Anthony Giddens, but that of the control from the bottom of goods and resources to acquire the sphere of common goods. A ball that is not a metaphysical entity, as would appear from the mantra about a "common" transformed into substance that impregnates the world or an area defined once and for all, but the result possibile, e sempre a rischio, di mobilitazioni, di lotte, e soprattutto di alternative progettuali. The third step of the roadmap is definitely the fight against this injustice.

Looking For Maxine Birthday Cartoons

"Why - Ross asks Rossanda the manifest last Friday - Viale Guido does not propose to close the Fiat?" For Fiat, the Termini Imerese, Marchionne has already closed, and that of the Pomigliano will close soon, if the workers without rights, without pause and without free days to spend with your family, did not produce 240 thousand vehicles a year instead of just over a thousand current (which is highly likely); or even if he can not sell them all (even more likely). And if not close down Mirafiori, certainly the resize again, after removing it, to bring in Serbia, its share of mysterious plan "Factory of Italy," that nobody, including himself, knows more than what it is. Instead, I propose that those plants are kept open and even enhanced, used for productions not only less harmful to the environment and livability (and therefore not a luxury car, bigger, more beautiful, and "added value" as offers those who would teach the craft to Marchionne), but to productions in the coming years will need to replace systems current energy.

And why, continues Rossanda, Guido Viale not asking "to be metalworkers in the name of true progress, an entrepreneur environmentalist?" Why entrepreneurs ecologists, although there are not enough: we must put them in a position to operate without succumbing to the dictates of "competitiveness", otherwise, hello hello ecology and respect for workers. I do not think however that we should just leave the metal workers, or workers alone of all the Fiat, the task of finding a solution to their crisis business, and this should be the goal of all the forces working to save jobs, income and charges , at least in areas (almost all) affected by corporate crises. And if entrepreneurs ecologists are not enough, we must work because there are businesses that operate within the plans built on the needs of the territory: for example, projects that encourage rather than generating capacity from renewable sources giving billions to the mafia, "clique" Inter and multinational oil companies and slaughtering the landscape, are intended to provide facilities intended primarily to satisfy their needs, and then to integrate with each other, every home or building with a roof unusual or windy. But most projects that are binding on the incentives to purchase products manufactured in factories converted. Certainly such a program violates the tenets liberalism, but maybe the mafia, the "clique", the ol'Enel Moratti does not violate those principles? And yes because they and not us?

Denise Milani Mediafire

I posted (on request) sheet, an article on Tuesday, 26.10 declarations that Marchionne

For over four years Sergio Marchionne was one of the most discrete of Italy manager: communicating with the rest of the country through the company's financial statements, interventions in the board and his sweaters. For some time he began to make noisy outputs in public. Prior to the meeting of Communion and Liberation, the locus of all politics and wire paraberlusconiana the country, then to Florence, the association of the Knights of labor, where you left off even "escape" that someone had opened the gates of the zoo (as if until then the men and women of the establishment had remained locked in a cage) on Sunday by Fazio, foolish to make promises ("Fiat will bring wages to the level of those in Germany" , which are exactly twice) and read data inconclusive, that the labor productivity in Italy is ranked at 118 out of 139 countries surveyed (of the 201 existing, including San Marino and the Vatican). Unfortunately, his interviewer has not asked him how and by whom it was calculated that figure. It seems to me (source: Eurostat) and the 25 EU countries, Italy is in 15th place to ensure productivity (but then, other countries around the world are all in the first few rows above us?), but we are in 17th place for spending on research, on the 23rd for investment in ICT (information technology), the 24th for training. On the other hand, the OECD, Italian wages are lower and working hours are among the highest of those of the 33 countries that belong to it. Whose responsibility then? Workers who do not work enough, if by chance we have a job? Or of those not doing research, are not training, are not investments, do not pay the workers?

It 'obvious that with his public appearances Marchionne tries to hide the lack of investment, "new models" and now (finished the incentives) also features the company's sales, despite, apparently, full of profits to come. The mysterious factory floor industrial Italy, so far we only know that Termini Imerese is closing that was stolen at Mirafiori production program, while the survival of Pomigliano remains in doubt, so much so that if Marchionne had managed to win the Opel, as has won the Chrysler, at no cost, at the expense would have been just the establishment of Campania. Make

, Marchionne tells us, only those establishments abroad: in Poland and Brazil, without the weight of Italy Fiat would be better off. But it is obvious that in a company where workers are in cash integration one day and go off, and where do you work in Pomigliano virtually for almost two years - except as lemons squeeze the workers in the days when the establishments are open - productivity and efficiency are low.

But Marchionne, until they can "govern" the factory as he wants, will not reveal his plans or to its shareholders, trade unions or collaborators who have signed the diktat of Pomigliano. Many (even Fini and Bonanni!) Begin to glimpse the bluff and to suspect that behind the latest moves - the spin-off, which puts the party except for the Agnelli profitable company, layoffs of reprisal, they come under accused of Fiom from now referred to as responsible for any and increasingly likely flop Factory Italy - there are only preparing to scale and sell off most of the Italian plant. All the more reason to start thinking seriously about alternatives in production environment.

Master Lock Combination Patterns

time ago I published an article on the Republic of 24.10 on the work of the Special Commissioner of waste in Campania

the "miracle" FIELD OF BERLUSCONI IS CALLED LANDFILL

The principles of sound management of waste have been set by the OECD and by a directive of the then European Community fifty years ago: first, to reduce ( especially packaging and disposable items, but also - with composting in the garden or balcony, which transforms them into terriccio – gli avanzi di cucina); secondo, riciclare, cioè recuperare in nuovi cicli produttivi i material di cui sono composti i rifiuti: si fa con la raccolta differenziata e le “piattaforme” di recupero, ma anche con una separazione meccanica della frazione indifferenziata e con il compostaggio dei rifiuti organici; terzo, recuperare energia da ciò che non si può riciclare: bruciando le frazioni combustibili residue, in impianti che possono anche non essere inceneritori; e gassificando la frazione organica); quarto, portare in discarica solo ciò che avanza.

Questi principi erano quindi già da tempo in vigore nel 1994, quando in Campania è stato istituito il Commissario straordinario alla waste management that, although at times the role has been attributed to the President of the Region, it is always a figure that is not accountable to the Regional Council and the local population, but the national government. I am therefore the governments of left and right that have followed since then have to respond to the disaster it was. Because in the past sixteen years, of what those principles require, in Campania has not been done or tried anything, even if to do nothing has been spent the equivalent of over two billion euro, so it is unfair, today as yesterday, blame for a population plagued by sixteen years of extraordinary management of waste, where everything was allowed to Commissioners and nothing was controlled or controllable, and after years and more, before extraordinary items, prior to cholera (since 1973) and then the earthquake (since 1980): a textbook example of that shock economy (the exploitation profit of disasters, natural or artificial) narrated by Naomi Klein.

limited to the last three years, reduction policies were not even considered, yet the emergency imposed especially those that are free of charge. The collection had long since been entrusted to consortia obligations, filled with staff - former LSU (work) and more - and in many cases, infiltrated by the Camorra, without providing them with mezzi e attrezzature per operare e di un’organizzazione del lavoro degna di questo nome. Suffice it to say that the city of Carinola was because the police minister Maroni, to the collection - and it was good - had refused to hand over its management to one of those consortia.

Worse still go for the mechanical separation. Campania, thanks to EU funds, is the region of Italy, and perhaps in Europe, most fitted with mechanical biological treatment plants: that is Stir (formerly CDR). There are seven, with a capacity that exceeds the entire regional production of waste, with a few changes could also allow the recycling - without the need for subsequent incineration, which is a very expensive process, as well as harmful - Of almost everything that enters it. But those plants were sent to hell by the group Impregilo (which, until 2006, was entrusted with the operation of the entire waste cycle in Campania), that it just wanted to pack them, wasting no time in separating them, with a view to accumulate incentives that would flush the Acerra incinerator burning: hence the six million ecoballe accumulated in the countryside of Naples and Caserta. Berlusconi (with Law 123/08) had decided to close these facilities and sell them to individuals as scrap, because he wanted to burn everything without separating the "dry" by the 'wet'.

Before leaving, Bertolaso, using the army - as he had done before him with De Gennaro Prodi - to collect the garbage on the street, but above all to defend landfills and incinerators by the prying eyes of auditors and the population, had already filled almost all existing landfill sites at the time of his inauguration, he had built a new one (one, hotly contested, Chiaiano), then leave the hot potato of two Terzigno, in the park of Vesuvius, the epicenter of the insurgency today, who would come after him: no money, no power, no projects. So, Berlusconi has made a miracle in Campania: the landfill. And the results - predictable, and anticipated by those who did not want to close my eyes - you see.

How Should A Brazillian Look Like

I wrote an article that sums up my position on some issues at the center of discussion at home movimeti

CONVERSION ENVIRONMENT: WHAT ROLE FOR THE GOVERNMENT?

For those who look to the current crisis from the perspective of a different world issues were widely debated in other forums can be taken for granted. First, if there is or there will be a "recovery" of the crisis - which has yet to be seen - not much, the three main indicators by which we measure the economic performance (GDP, profits and employment), the recovery may relate to the GDP of some countries, the profits of a part, and only a part, businesses, but certainly will not affect employment and labor income. Less than ever can think of getting a new phase of economic expansion, like that of so-called "Thirty Glorious" (1945-1975), at least in the world that affects us. Investments and profits are now irreversibly separated from employment and better working conditions.
Planet Earth is on the brink of an abyss due to the excessive consumption of environment, both to the transfer of resources from that of the waste, residues and wastes. The economic crisis and environmental crisis are inextricably linked. Therefore, to ensure income and living conditions and decent work for all requires a profound change both of our patterns of consumption that the productive apparatus that supports them. Consumption and production structure are inextricably linked: renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy saving and recycling of land and resources, sustainable transport and farming, multicolturale, multifunctional and km0 are the cornerstones of needed change. This change requires a radical change of paradigm in economic processes, to shift from economies of scale based on large installations and large networks of economic and financial control (such as the hydrocarbon cycle, from cradle to grave) the principles of decentralization, dissemination, of territorial differentiation, integration through a relationship direct, including staff, including production of goods or provision of services and consumption. The need to relocate and "territorialization" of course, regards consumption and production resources and physical goods (atoms) and not information and knowledge (bits), but this corresponds perfectly to the rule of thumb to think globally and act locally.
The current ruling elites, both political (majority and opposition) and managerial or business are not equipped or substantially affected in a different genre. The crisis could develop processes and compaction authoritarian disintegration of the connective tissue of the economy and society. In both cases, dangerous per tutti. A combination like that outlines a variable scope, but essential to a participatory democracy - compatible and designed for a long time to live with the traditional institutional representatives - whose forms may not necessarily be similar everywhere.
I have so far avoided the appointment of terms such as sustainable development, decline, Km0 democracy, ecological conversion, socialism, class struggle, party and similar words that can divide. Trying to focus on what unites, or can combine an array of ideas, practices and organizations as widely as possible. Here, however, takes a stand on issues that can not find it all in agreement.
First, I believe that the state and the states are the counterparty and not as agents of transformation that set, which can not be governed or managed, but not designed, and from a centralized. Nor can play a role such as finance or international bodies that are to be global, or those which make up their own power.
Secondly, I consider sacred and essential to the defense of employment and income in the workplace, but if it takes place without questioning the logic and type of goods and services produced outside of a view to modifying the structure of production and consumption patterns in force is a losing battle. For example, does not lead to asking for anything that Fiat will produce more cars, which produce more in Italy, producing more models with higher added value, that is luxury, which produces "green car" (also, an oxymoron). So I think the focus of the conversion step individual access to goods and services to more and more daring forms of shared consumption. It is not "collectivization" consumption, but to join forces to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Examples at hand are the GAS (groups joint purchasing) and over the past two years have spread exponentially, the most promising associations to manage the energy savings, installing renewable energy installations or promote flexible mobility. It 's a model that can invest all local public services, transport, energy, waste, water, maintenance of the territory, the municipal welfare. And then, culture, entertainment, education, vocational training and lifelong learning, but also reuse of abandoned or assets to be divested, by promoting a culture and practice of maintenance.
Certainly we need a policy framework in general, not only nationally but also International. But in the absence of players and agents are able or willing to take responsibility - and those otherwise unable to achieve in its geographical locations - is at the local level that you play the game, today's overall programmatic design can only come from the competition of initiatives at local , even if designed with a global approach and thinking.
why the preservation or the recapture of a key role for local authorities - municipalities and their operational arms - is a fundamental strategic general thing that the global campaign against water privatization has revealed.
Nothing to do with "federalism" heralded by the League. There has never been so much centralization and expropriation of local authorities - ICE decisions on the location of nuclear facilities, seizure of funds from Fas-cutting transfers and the centralization of the special measures in the hands of civil protection, ie the Presidency of the Council, namely the "clique" - as when the league to the government. But the threat further obstacle to any prospect of radical change this state of affairs are represented by the privatization of local public services, promoted and carried forward under the false guise of their "liberalization". Not only because it replaces the profit to the value and purpose of social "commons." But mainly because the prohibition or limitation of IN-house operation, far from promoting the efficiency of services, trigger processes of aggregation and management of financial activities, and with it a progressive and violent expulsion of decision-making powers from the territory of reference in activities that are essentially "proximity services", whose effectiveness depends on the degree of control and conditioning - but also the participation and involvement - that users can place on them. The case of municipal waste in Campania, whose management was entrusted in its entirety to a multinational foreign to the area after being stolen, with the establishment of the Special Commissioner and the militarization of the territory, control of the already weak institutional representatives and protest from below, is a textbook case. As is the story of the seizure of privatized water services in the province of Latina.
why the promotion of new forms of shared consumption - meaning control or air conditioning on the conditions under which the goods or services are produced, distributed or paid - is both a way and the result of a participatory democracy that involves active citizenship and make her grow in number and capacity of self-government: protagonists should become, in the manner peculiar to each specific actor, workers and their organizations, volunteering el'associazionismo base, local governments or any of their segment, and those social enterprises, including private, especially when based on local available change. The design and implementation of this step still requires an open dialogue among all potential stakeholders, a comparison that in most cases will be imposed in connection with the fight, but in others may be favored by precipitating the crisis.
The proposals gained significant and in some cases had already been tested through years of reflection and practice within the movement are winners. I posted on the manifest of 29 settembe an article on the role of incinerators in the competition with the collection

"If we keep the 40 percent threshold to achieve for the separation, the waste-not we ever do ... So if it is your intention, the majority and the opposition, you have to lower the share of waste." Thus, according to Republic of 23 September, the interception of a telephone call between the ras waste Abruzzo Rodolfo Di Zio and Alderman regional environment, both arrested and both as in cahoots with the majority that the opposition the Region, as well as with the Lombard Ecodeco - but also with the anti-dumping committee - to build one or two incinerators in the region and ensure a sufficient quantity of waste to be burned to power them. It should be noted that 40 percent of waste collection is a requirement of law applies throughout the country to be achieved within the current year, while in 2012 this percentage will rise to 65 per cent, although the drop in demand threshold has already moved even ANCI, the association of the Italian community is also worried, of course, that incinerators are active or planned in their respective areas of reference remain "dry."

Ed eccoci di fronte alla spiegazione del disastro della Campania, dove da sedici anni la raccolta differenziata è al palo (con l’eccezione di alcuni comuni “virtuosi”, uno dei quali è stato anche commissariato dal ministro dell’Interno Maroni perché il suo sindaco faceva “troppa” raccolta differenziata) in attesa degli inceneritori previsti dal “piano” regionale: prima quattordici, poi tre, poi uno, then four, then five, then we no longer know: what is there, the duo opened with great pomp and Berlusconi Bertolaso a year and a half ago, with lots of raspberry to environmentalists is not working and never work, but it was enough take to stop the collection and earning ten million tons of eco-bales in the country's most fertile peninsula, because he had to make rich, with incentives for incineration, the first Impregilo (the company most loved by Berlusconi, Mediaset) A2A then, the multi-Berlusconi mayors of Milan and Brescia.
And this explains also the waste disaster in Sicily, also waiting for a decade four incinerators (later deleted, to get up after nine, one for each province, for more provinces in a region that has committed itself to abolish). Or we are faced with an explanation of why in Emilia, a region once known for its good administration, but has long controlled by Hera and his giant incinerators, waste collection door to door is made with the dropper containers and road - very dirty - dominate the urban landscape. Or, again, this explains the mystery of Argelato: the only Italian city that was rejected in a referendum promoted by the right waste collection door to door, forcing the resignation of the mayor of PD who had strongly desired, and this, despite the fact that the PD will still have something like 70 percent of the vote. Why Hera, in time to take over the management of waste in Argelato, had mobilized cadres of the Democratic Party ... to put them in check the mayor.
The fact is that the collection of waste, if it is different and especially if it is "pushing" the door to door service is a neighborhood: it requires a direct relationship, a permanent conversation, two-way interaction between users el ' company (and with operators of the company) to promote the continuous adaptation of the service, the qualifications of the staff (this is, after all, a front-line service) and the cooperation of the citizens.
Quello that applies to municipal waste valid for all local public services: water management, transport and mobility, distribution of gas and electricity (the more you save or install renewable energy sources, the company earns less), but then also culture, social assistance, etc.. Extortion users, these large companies are also able to allocate to municipalities that are shareholders in a share of their profits. "I am happy because Hera spends a million a year in dividends to my village," I once said a militant of the Democratic Party. Yes, but where did he get?
This is the company that controls the town and not vice versa. The incinerator of Brescia (formerly ASM; today A2A), the goose that lays the golden eggs of rifiutologia Italian, is a textbook example. If the Capannori (near Lucca) was able to become a champion of Italian collection (and the first to aim at the target of zero waste) is because he maintained - along with four other municipalities of medium size - control Urban hygiene company with one hundred percent of public ownership: what the Italian law now bans, requiring, under the false appearance of "liberalization, privatization of local public services. If
Argelato wins instead return to the collection of waste bins with maps, and ' because the multi-Hera has now taken the lead on political events in the administrative area.

Dietary Exchange Calculation

I posted an article on the manifest of 15:09 on the spin-off of Fiat

"It 's interesting to note that Morgan Stanley, banks historically close to Marchionne, does not consider the financial projections underlying factory in Italy, the program of 20 billion investment in 5 years presented to the Government by Fiat to double car production in the country and get the green light at the end of Termini Imerese and restructuring next venture. " So Massimo Mucchetti the Corriere della sera, 13 September, analyzing the meaning and perspectives of the so-called spin-off group, namely the separation of the auto sector and related components from the vehicle industrial machinery and earth moving equipment.

This is an operation designed to separate the "meat" that is active in production with a more secure income, which in this way will remain firmly in the hands of the Agnelli family, the production at risk, ie the car, which - despite the excellent performance of the fund "luxury" Ferrari and Maserati - do not promise anything good. And maybe be able to save themselves by merging with Chrysler, where the apparent recovery of the latter will prove effective. But that may well end up among the strongest jaws of any group, whether the financial engineering for them safe from a hostile takeover does not go into port, especially if the Euro-American vehicle market, low-range, in which Fiat will not offer breath. One breath at all unlikely.
In the same article, the Courier informs us that "according to the U.S. management consulting firm AT Kerny, the demand for cars will grow especially in Asia, while Europe and North America [ie the countries in which Chrysler would place Most of the 6 million cars that Marchionne deem essential to the survival of the group] will remain strong in absolute figure. " One thing so well known and obvious to know that maybe it was not essential to use a company "Strategic advice."

In such a context the fact that at the time of the group to divide the spoils between flesh and cartilage, the factory floor Italy - EUR 20 billion and a half million cars to be produced in its Italian plants, against the current 650 thousand - is not even mentioned is not "curious", as claimed by the Courier, but obvious.
Mucchetti merely to suggest that Italy is only one factory smoke and mirrors: "The truth is that what are the plans, speeches, and another one third are real decisions when you lay-offs, and debt Financial ... increases from 28 to 30 billion. " Italy is a factory mirror for the government and unions collaborators, most of the forest intellectuals and politicians who gave them credit not only serves to justify the closure of Termini Imerese, now discounted by at least three years, although not to see the unions - all - have continued to bury their heads in the sand. It also serves, and above all, to justify the much more substantial attack on the living conditions and working with the agreement of Pomigliano launched, but now in the pipeline for its extension to all factories of the group - and then Federmeccanica all member companies, and then the rest of Italian workers - in the name of "competitiveness."
In exchange for what? Nothing, if at the time to divide the spoils, and to secure the "swag" for Agnelli, the huge debt that the auto industry of the group should meet in order to finance that plan is not even considered. Indeed, it seems that the accounts of the first half of the year indicate even a sharp fall in investment. Moreover, even Marchionne has never taken for granted to realize its business plan, the subject always has a market recovery that none of the current ratings can be expected.
What are the actual plans Marchionne, not only for establishment of Pomigliano, but also for Mirafiori, and even Sevel Melfi, maybe you do not even know him. Wait occasion, yesterday was the Chrysler (one way to "successful", at least for now) and Opel (failure), today Serbia (which was not as quick as proposed, to put the ropes Mirafiori), tomorrow who knows ? It may also be absorption by a stronger automotive group: perhaps with a stew of Fiat, Lancia and Alfaromeo. Or even between different factories. Whose value - the stock market - will depend largely on how workers and unions have bent his head in front of his blackmail.
So what? Not only the industrial policy, and not only the policy per se, but the lives of tens of thousands workers - Fiat and industries - and the economy of the whole country can not continue to remain at the mercy of the times when you encounter Marchionne. The environmental crisis of the Earth puts on the agenda the urgent need to involve the resources and productive forces of each area in a grand plan of conversion. Fiat's plants and industries have all it takes to be gradually engaged in a course like that.

For the first time the environmental issue is confronted not only with the conveniences of the company (a subject on which they practiced for several decades, and mostly empty, despite the profusion of texts produced, the bards of the unique thought and virtues of the market), but the problem much more substantial employment and working conditions at the factory. Defending one and the other can not be done without setting the agenda, both nationally and internationally, but especially in the individual territories, from crisis situations, the subject of a conversion cycle: from production and environmentally harmful no prospect of a market to those with a secure future on a planet that is increasingly urgent to deal with the conditions for its survival. That is also the only way to prevent an irreversible decline of the country. I had added
